From desks to high-tech equipment: everything that goes under the hammer at Meyer Burger's sale. The auctions end in December.

The insolvent solar module manufacturer Meyer Burger is currently auctioning off its inventory. According to the auctioneer, almost 1,500 individual items from potted plants, office furniture and tools to production facilities at the Thalheim (Saxony-Anhalt) and Freiberg (Saxony) sites are up for sale. According to the auction catalog, the starting prices range from ten euros, for example for a stepladder, to 1.5 million euros for a solar cell production line.

Operations at the two plants were discontinued on 1 September because no investor could be found for the insolvent company. According to the insolvency administrator, the majority of the approximately 540 employees were made redundant. The German subsidiaries of Swiss solar manufacturer Meyer Burger filed for insolvency in May.
