Lufthansa is having six A380 aircraft refitted at Elbe Flugzeugwerke in Dresden. In future, the Lufthansa Group announced that Business Class will offer even more comfort and privacy. This includes wider seats and an entertainment system.

In addition to the modernization of Business Class, routine maintenance work will also be carried out on the aircraft. The six A380s are to be refitted by mid-2027.

Elbe Flugzeugwerke - a subsidiary of ST Engineering (Singapore) and Airbus with a turnover of 650 million euros (2024) - converts passenger aircraft into freighters, among other things. The company currently has more than 2,000 employees.
