The Dresden Chamber of Crafts has warned of a collapse in the construction industry. Quick and decisive political action is needed, warned Chamber President Jörg Dittrich on Monday. "If this does not happen, the construction industry is heading for a massive crisis and there is a threat of staff and capacity cuts that cannot be reversed." The chamber referred to the results of its current economic survey. According to the survey, 45 percent of trade companies in the construction industry expect turnover to fall in the coming months. A third of companies in the finishing trade are already experiencing a drop in incoming orders.
