Former SPD member of the Bundestag Daniela Kolbe is the new chairwoman of the DGB Saxony. The 45-year-old graduate physicist replaces Markus Schlimbach, who did not stand for re-election after eight years at the helm of the trade union umbrella organization. At the district conference in Dresden, 96.8 percent of delegates voted for Kolbe, as announced by the DGB.
The current economic challenges can only be solved with and not against the employees, she warned. "The absurd demands from parts of politics and business to extend
working hours and make cuts to social security show a lack of
ideas and vision. These are proposals from the moth box."
