The Ministry of Europe in Saxony has once again raffled off 700 tickets for a train journey through Europe to young people. A record turnout was recorded.

The Ministry of Europe has raffled off a total of 700 Interrail tickets to young people in Saxony. According to the ministry, there were over 1300 more registrations than last year. A total of 4546 people took part in the prize draw.

"The record participation shows how great the interest is in exploring Europe and experiencing it in personal encounters during the trip," said Minister for Europe Katja Meier (Greens). Between March and November 2025, the winners will be able to travel through Europe by train alone or in pairs. They will also receive a travel allowance of 250 euros and a preparatory seminar.

Young people between the ages of 18 and 27 were able to register between mid-September and mid-October. Of the tickets drawn, 250 were reserved for trainees. The prize draw took place as part of the Saxorail project. This should also be continued in the next legislative period, the ministry added.
