The cool and occasionally rainy summer has caused a drop in attendance at the Dresden Film Nights. According to the organizers, around 215,000 guests came to the area on the Königsufer this year - around 16,000 fewer than in 2024. The decline was also due to the fact that two planned events were cancelled because a bomb was found at the demolition site of the Carola Bridge.
The bridge demolition and the associated changes to the infrastructure also led to additional costs of 100,000 euros. According to the organizers, they had to spend a further 13,000 euros on so-called terror barriers, which had been requested by the city.
The film nights offered a mix of open-air cinema and concerts. In addition to "Kaisermania" with Roland Kaiser, Nina Chuba and Sido were also part of the festival this time. Dresden's banks of the Elbe are set to become a stage for cinema and concert evenings again in 2026.
