Many thousands of people celebrated the traditional Stollen Festival in Dresden on Saturday. A giant stollen was presented during a parade through the old town. According to the Dresden Stollen Protection Association, the sweet pastry was made up of around 250 slabs, each weighing seven kilograms.

Dresden stollen bakers produced the XXL Striezel in a joint effort. At the Stollen Festival, it was sold in 500-gram pieces for ten euros each. Most of the proceeds will be donated to a good cause.
