Entertainer Riccardo Simonetti and sports anchor Esther Sedlaczek will host the next Semper Opera Ball. “I figured that if you have the chance to host such a huge, glamorous show, you’d be foolish to say no,” Simonetti explained at a press conference in Dresden regarding the Semper Opera Ball. The host is set to guide guests through the ball night alongside Sedlaczek under the theme “Vivi il momento—A Night in Elbflorenz.” Trixie Steiner, managing director of the Semper Opera Ball organization, explained that they had been looking for a host who would be a good fit for the theme with its Italian flair. “I think the theme is absolutely wonderful,” said Simonetti, whose parents are both from Italy. He himself likes to live in the moment, and of course, throwing in a bit of Italian flair here and there is no problem for him. But one big question was still on the host’s mind: “I’m already racking my brain trying to figure out what I’m going to wear,” said Simonetti. “I’d love it if I could find a designer from Dresden or the surrounding area who might be interested in collaborating on a design,” he told the German Press Agency. After all, he likes to have a local connection to his events. He could also imagine putting out a call for designers on Instagram. In addition to Simonetti and Sedlaczek, other celebrity guests have already been announced for the Semper Opera Ball, which is scheduled to take place on February 5, 2027. Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also attend the Dresden Opera Ball as the fourth Federal President in the event’s history. In addition, actor Jan Josef Liefers will attend the ball as the recipient of the Choros Prize. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de). All rights reservedHost Seeks Designer
