The story of Marthe, penned by author Sabine Ebert, continues in the theater - with the world premiere of the second part of the novel series at the Felsenbühne Rathen. The production "Die Spur der Hebamme", based on the second book of the medieval saga, opens the season at the famous natural theater in Saxon Switzerland on May 16. It is one of a total of three new productions planned for the summer - and after 2018's "The Secret of the Midwife", the sequel to the story set in the 12th century about the young healer and the settlement of Freiberg.
The musical "Anatevka" and the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" will also premiere at the beginning of September. Schöbel said that "Anatevka", about the Jewish milkman Tevye and his daughters who rebel against tradition, is highly topical in times of strong external pressure. And Grimm's classic surprises with a Little Red Riding Hood who speaks the language of the animals.
