The story of Marthe, penned by author Sabine Ebert, continues in the theater - with the world premiere of the second part of the novel series at the Felsenbühne Rathen. The production "Die Spur der Hebamme", based on the second book of the medieval saga, opens the season at the famous natural theater in Saxon Switzerland on May 16. It is one of a total of three new productions planned for the summer - and after 2018's "The Secret of the Midwife", the sequel to the story set in the 12th century about the young healer and the settlement of Freiberg.
"The Felsenbühne is a place that lets stories breathe differently - raw, honest and haunting," said Manuel Schöbel, artistic director of the Landesbühnen Sachsen, to which the Felsenbühne belongs. The story adapted for the stage "unfolds its full force here". Thanks to the new lifting platform, a castle room grows out of the ground, the orchestra room becomes the Christianshof and there are more horses.
