Whether a festival, exhibition or dance performance: a special fund from the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony is providing money for 124 cultural projects in rural areas. A total of 260,000 euros will be made available, the foundation announced. The individual projects will receive between 500 and 5,000 euros. However, associations and other art and cultural organizations from Saxony's rural areas have submitted a total of 415 applications for small project funding. According to the foundation, the first call for proposals ran from mid-February to the end of March.
A next call for proposals for projects in 2025 will probably only be possible after the adoption of Saxony's 2025/26 double budget, according to the foundation. Accordingly, the government draft provides for a funding volume of 563,000 euros for the small projects fund for 2025 - the total volume of applications submitted in the first phase amounted to more than 1.4 million euros.
Last year, a total of 327 projects were supported with around 800,000 euros from the fund.
