Singer Roland Kaiser has a double - made of wax. "It's incredible," said the 72-year-old hours before the start of this year's "Kaisermania" concert series in Dresden, when he saw the figure of himself made for the Madame Tussauds exhibition in Berlin for the first time. "A perfect double, you could say."
The figure is identical down to the hair and wrinkles, only the outfit is different: instead of the classic blue two-piece suit with a colorful handkerchief, the real Kaiser wears a combination of red trousers and a dark blue jacket at the press event - and is fascinated by his likeness.
The famous wax museum selected Kaiser, who will celebrate his 50th stage anniversary in 2024, for the illustrious international company of prominent artists already gathered there, including Taylor Swift and Helene Fischer. "It's an honor, no question about it," said Kaiser. His likeness will stand in the scaled-down replica of the "Kaisermania" set, with the famous Dresden Old Town backdrop and videos of his legendary shows - and will be on public display from this Saturday.
