The Ore Mountains are the setting for a new Abrafaxe adventure. In a special issue, the comic heroes immerse themselves in the historic mining industry of the mining region, which has officially been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2019. Abrax, Brabax and Califax get to know historical figures in Schneeberg, according to the World Heritage Association. To this end, the team from the comic magazine "Mosaik" has spent the past few months researching history and mining traditions on site.
The magazine will be officially presented in Schneeberg on February 4. A signing session is planned for fans at the Wolfgangmaßen mine, which is featured in the booklet. The special edition will be distributed free of charge.
Abrafaxe have been having adventures for 50 years
The three heroes have been having regular adventures for 50 years. The first complete issue with them was published in January 1976 in the former GDR and was called "The Secret of the Grotto". Since then, they have won over a large fan community that has remained loyal to them even after reunification. Among other things, the trio have been to ancient Greece, met Nefertiti in ancient Egypt, traveled through the Middle Ages and met countless great adventurers and famous personalities from history.
