The League of Independent Welfare Organizations in Saxony fears further cuts in the social sector due to tight budgets. "The tough struggle over the budget shows that social services in particular are coming under pressure as budgets become tighter," the league said. Cohesion can only be secured in the long term if social issues are also considered.
Social organizations and services receive planning security
The League expressly welcomed the adoption of the Saxon double budget planned for the evening. "After months of provisional budget management, the decision finally provides the much-needed planning security for social organizations and services. A total of around 83 million euros more than originally planned will be available for social welfare and social interaction."
The League was particularly relieved that the originally planned massive cuts in addiction support and prevention had been corrected. The secured funding for consumer insolvency advice was also a positive development. This ensures that over-indebted people continue to receive help. The structures for voluntary work have also been secured for the time being.
