Maintaining the hiking and pilgrimage trails in Saxony requires voluntary commitment and money. The Free State of Saxony supports numerous projects.

This year, 46 hiking and pilgrimage projects are being supported in Saxony. According to the Saxon Ministry of Tourism, 80,000 euros will be used to fund trail markings, rest areas and small infrastructural measures, among other things. "With every funded initiative, we are not only strengthening tourism, but also social cohesion in the regions," said Minister of State Barbara Klepsch (CDU).
