After experiencing violence, victims need rapid support. In Saxony, the network of trauma outpatient clinics is being expanded.

There are now three more trauma outpatient clinics in Saxony for rapid help after experiences of violence. At the beginning of the year, the Saxon hospitals in Arnsdorf (Bautzen district) and Altscherbitz near Leipzig as well as the Klinik am Waldschlößchen in Dresden started operations, as announced by the Ministry of Health. Eleven years after the opening of the first trauma outpatient clinic in Saxony, there are now nine such facilities for adults and four for children and adolescents in the state.

After an act of violence, those affected are often also emotionally burdened, explained Health Minister Petra Köpping. "They receive immediate advice and therapeutic support here. In addition to direct victims themselves, relatives, surviving dependents and loved ones can also receive rapid psychological help in a trauma outpatient clinic," emphasized the SPD politician.
